Entry #3 : A Clearer Picture

Hello again, everyone.

I’ve been looking for the proper art assets since the last update.

Using the assets I’ve obtained, I used Photoshop to quickly put together a visual mock-up of how the game would roughly look to the player.

Fire bad, VERY bad.

The background and overall feel is meant to make the player  believe that they are travelling between space and time, it is vibrant and chaotic. Similar the opening of the TV show, reference provided below.

Also, the phone booth, and two robots were received from HERE.

I created the background by combining three different wallpapers (above) and used Photoshop‘s Overlay and Lighten feature, tweaking between the two functions in order to get the result I wanted for the game.

I used the same technique on the two enemies the player will be facing in-game. Place the fireball artwork on top of the enemies in Photoshop and tweaked them to obtain my desired look.

The orbs are just scaled down from their original size, I do not plan to do anything else with them, for now.

Gameplay-wise, I have managed to find a video to serve as an EXCELLENT reference, it’s from a mobile game call My Little Pony from Google Play Store and Apple App Store.

I plan to follow the same format to that game reference, only paint it over with a Doctor Who palette. The next thing I plan to do is try to find audio assets for:

  • Background music
  • TARDIS flying off
  • Dalek’s yelling “Exterminate!”
  • Cyberman “torpedo” sound
  • Orbs collection sound

More updates to follow, have an exciting day!
